To satisfy the need for necessary number of patients in trials, SwedPedMed is also able to broaden the recruitment to other countries in Europe. SwedPedMed is part of the NordicPedMed which encompasses the corresponding national networks in Finland, Norway, Denmark and Iceland.
SwedPedMed and Karolinska Institutet is the Swedish representative and Swedish National Hub in the large collaborative European network Conect4children (c4c). C4c aims to facilitate the development of new drugs and other therapies for the entire paediatric population. This novel collaboration includes 33 academic and 10 industry partners from 20 European countries, and more than 50 third parties and around 500 affiliated partners.
SwedPedMed and Västra Götaland region is also represented in the European network (Paediatric Clinical Research Infrastructure Network; EPCT-RI) SwedPedMed is also taking part of the European Network of Paediatric Research at the European Medicines Agency (Enpr-EMA), which aims to bring relevant stakeholders together to discuss and make strategies to reduce barriers and improve opportunities for high-quality clinical studies in children in Europe and worldwide.
